Dear Members,
My first order of business for the new Lodge year is to thank everyone for their support and confidence shown by electing me as your Exalted Ruler. I would like to extend a personal ”thank you” to Iwan Choronenko, PDDGER for installing me and my officers, along with the help of the PER’s from
our Lodge and other Lodges. Bob Pitney, PDDGER, wife Joanie, Rita Choronenko, Larry Granucci, PER his wife Cathylee and the other volunteers that helped set-up, serve and cook.

Past Exalted Ruler Larry Granucci did an outstanding job this year, along with his wife Cathylee, his officers, house committee, trustees, chairpersons, volunteers, employees (bartenders and kitchen staff) and office employees. It was great to see the wonderful participation of all of our Elk members by coming to our dinners, events and/or just to have a drink and fellowship with others.
The Lodge has grown and thrived with the leadership of Larry Granucci, PER and wife Cathylee. At this writing our Lodge is number one in the West Central District for new members and top 18 in the State. Members please continue this great achievement by speaking to potential new members and inviting them to join you at your table for events. Also, try to sign up a friend this year that has enjoyed our Lodge but has yet not joined us as a member.
If everyone signed up one person this year we would have 726 new members by the end of the year. Carry an application and be proud to let
others know what we are all about, ”Elks Care and Elks Share.”

We had an outstanding March with the District PER Association having their meeting here on Friday the 16th and the St. Patrick’s Day Dinner Dance on Saturday the 17th. We certainly know how to be Irish at this Lodge. Dinner was delicious, music wonderful and the lunch sandwiches were great. Music and participation of Elks from everywhere made the whole day a success. The hard work of the volunteers who worked at the Grand Prix shows that Elks are stepping up to continue with making our Lodge a continued winner.
I am excited to start this new Elks year with the upcoming dinners and events, starting with the Duck Races on April 7th, Easter Dinner on the April
8th, Parrot Head Party on April 15th chaired by Ron De Luca and Larry Granucci, PER. Music, games and prizes for first, second and third best dressed Parrot Head will be given out. We also have the annual Hennessey Fishing Tournament on April 21st.

Just a reminder: KIDS FISHING DAY is scheduled for May12 and we will need volunteer Elks from our Lodge and other Lodges to help make this a success for the kids.
This year the Florida State Convention will be held at the Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort at Lake Buena Vista from Wednesday, May 23rd through Sunday, May 27th. If you plan on attending, you need to sign up and make reservations as soon as possible.
The Tiki Bar will be open on Monday the 28th for Memorial Day, along with music and food. Come join us.
My motto for this year is ”ELKS BELIEVE AND ELKS ACHIEVE.” This leads us to the cardinal principles of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, which is Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love and Fidelity.
